"Taking shots of trains in fog is a waste of time" seems to be the prevailing wisdom amongst many railway photographers. I beg to differ and with digital, it's always worth trying something: 86639 heads another classmate and a dead class 66 through Tring on a freightliner. The loud crackling sound from the arcing between the front pantograph and the damp contact wire meant this train could be heard long before it could be seen. 16/11/10
